What you'll study in an online digital content creation degree

In this program, you’ll take courses that cover content strategy, audience analytics, digital influence and media entrepreneurship. You’ll learn how to determine what content is working and what isn't by measuring performance over time. Course options allow you to focus on the medium you prefer, whether you want to take video courses to create a channel, audio courses to start a podcast or writing courses to launch a newsletter. With a degree in content creation, you'll be prepared for entrepreneurial careers built around your own platform, including work as a digital influencer, podcaster, brand storyteller or social media manager.

Your skills will also translate well to traditional media and marketing roles with strong earning potential. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, marketing managers earned a median annual wage of $161,030 in 2024, with employment projected to grow 6% through 2034. Producers and directors earned a median annual wage of $83,480 that same year, with growth projected at 5%. Film and video editors earned $70,980, with 3% growth projected over the same period.
