How do online courses work?

Our custom-designed degree programs and courses are delivered online by the same award-winning faculty who teach on campus. Courses are designed using state-of-the-art technology and tools, providing you with a direct connection to the knowledge and expertise of our faculty.

Student orientation

Become an independent and lifelong learner. ASU Online empowers you with the tools necessary to take ownership of your educational experience. Knowing your commitments will help you prioritize your time and make choices that best support your goals. After being admitted to ASU Online, you can get a jump start on your future by completing orientation.

Orientation is designed to prepare you to be a successful ASU Online student. The course and the instructor set the stage, but your success is ultimately up to you! Within one week, you’ll meet other online students, and explore tools and techniques to help you navigate the world of online learning.

Students who complete the ASU Online orientation are more prepared to overcome their time management obstacles and find balance between work, life and school.

Technical requirements for online classes

To be prepared for course exams from ASU Online, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

Desktop or laptop. Mobile devices will not provide full access to ASU’s online courses.

wifi

Courses are best viewed with high-speed internet and a reliable internet connection.

assignment

Course assignments do not require special software. Certain degrees may require specific software programs.

students

Students should have at least two browsers on their computer. Preferred browsers: Firefox and Chrome.
