Ideal candidates for this doctoral program will have an academic background in engineering or closely related STEM disciplines, paired with practical industry experience. This can include a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, depending on your academic path. Suitable for those who demonstrate leadership potential, effective communication and teamwork abilities, this program will allow you to explore your research interests, as well as build analytical and leadership skills relevant to the engineering profession.

Note: if you apply for this doctoral program with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related STEM degree, you must complete the full 60 credit hours required for completion. Those with master’s degrees in applicable fields may enter the program with up to 15 transferable credits.

No, Arizona State University’s diplomas don’t specify whether you earn your degree online or in person. All diplomas and transcripts simply say “Arizona State University.”

DEng courses with a focus on engineering management

The curriculum consists of various core, engineering management focus and elective courses. Topics you can explore range from engineering project management and workplace communication to statistical analysis and leading organizational change. To culminate this doctoral program, you’ll also complete a 12-credit applied project to address a real-world engineering problem.
