In honor of the holiday season, the university would like to take a moment to say thank you to our students who choose to call Arizona State University home. We are fueled by students around the world who have a desire to learn and create a better life. ASU is measured not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes, stretching beyond the traditional campus grounds to the community of students across the globe.
Each year, we continue to push for and foster new ideas, new tools and to continually evolve how we provide access to education. As a result, we are closing the year as the #1 Most Innovative School in the nation for the fifth year in a row, and that wouldn’t be possible without the contributions of our outstanding faculty, diverse student base and staff who have a passion to change the world embody and what it means to be a Sun Devil. And for that, we are most grateful.
We recognize the continued efforts of our online student community to push the envelope and keep creative thinking at the forefront of your educational journey. Here are just a few ways our students are helping to make a difference:
- The Personal Care E- Assistant, a hospital bed that minimizes the risk of pressure ulcers developed by a team of online engineering students.
- New Trails Navigators, an AI-driven platform designed to support formerly vulnerable persons (previously homeless, incarcerated, etc.) and to help them successfully re-enter the workforce and a life of sustainable health and wellness Leading the design and build of payloads for the Blue Origin New Shepard space vehicle to capture acoustic data from live bees and test the agglomeration of small particles, helping us understand how planets form.
The university, faculty, staff and community are proud of the work that you are achieving both inside and outside of the classroom - please take a moment this holiday season to reflect on your accomplishments and enjoy the season with family and friends.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season,
Phil Regier
