Become a leader in the construction industry

Offered through ASU’s Del E. Webb School of Construction, this master’s program allows you to develop the advanced technical, management and applied research skills to compete for upper-level management positions in the field. These roles are in demand: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of construction managers is projected to grow 9% from 2023 to 2033, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.

While construction managers aren’t always required to have a degree, the skills and experience gained in this program can give you a competitive edge when applying for jobs or bidding for contracts. Construction managers are increasingly holding degrees in construction science, architecture or engineering.

Tailor your studies to your career goals

You’ll choose one of two areas of focus for your studies.

  • The construction management focus helps you achieve management positions through improved competency in project, program and organization management.
  • The facility management focus supports your career goals related to maintaining, operating, renovating or decommissioning existing facilities.

Regardless of the focus area you choose, the curriculum of this master’s program is designed to help you meet the growing need for professionals in the construction industry.

Who’s an ideal candidate for this master’s program?

An ideal candidate is someone with a bachelor's degree in construction or a related field such as architecture, business or engineering who’s interested in expanding and improving their professional leadership and management capabilities in construction.

You may also consider pursuing this program as a way to enter the construction field at a leadership level. Many of our most successful construction management alumni had undergraduate degrees in another field and leveraged their master’s education to transition into the construction industry.
