Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Health

Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's program. Alternatively, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master's program.

All applicants must submit:

• Application for admission to ASU as a graduate nondegree-seeking student, completed through ASU's Graduate Admission Services. When prompted to select a program type, choose "Non-Degree," then select the College of Health Solutions as your college/school on the application.
• Proof of a completed bachelor's degree in any field
• The certificate's supplemental application, submitted after admission

An applicant whose native language is not English (regardless of current residency) must provide proof of English proficiency.

After admission, you'll complete a post-bacc certificate form to add the certificate and a Pre-Health 101 workshop. Apply at least four weeks before your intended start date.

• This certificate does not guarantee admission to any professional school.
• Some courses have prerequisites and sequencing requirements.
• This certificate isn't eligible for federal financial aid or GI Bill benefits.
• You are not eligible if you have not completed a bachelor's degree, or if you are actively pursuing a second undergraduate or post-baccalaureate degree.

No. You can apply with a bachelor's degree in any field. The certificate is designed for people who did not major in the sciences and need prerequisites, as well as those who want to enhance their academic record.

No. You can't add the certificate while you're enrolled as a bachelor's degree-seeking student, even if you already hold one. Although the coursework is undergraduate level, this certificate requires admission to ASU as a graduate nondegree-seeking student. Apply as a graduate nondegree-seeking student first, then submit the certificate's supplemental application after you're admitted.

No. The certificate provides academic preparation and advising support. It doesn't guarantee admission to a professional school.

You can complete the common prerequisites for most health professions programs, though requirements vary by school. Your pre-health advisor helps you plan the right courses for the schools on your list.

Most lab sciences are available fully online. If you choose organic chemistry, the lab includes a required in-person component held over the summer at ASU's Tempe campus. All other coursework is asynchronous and online.

Yes. You choose how many courses to take each session, so the certificate can fit around your work schedule. While the program is built for flexibility, the science coursework is rigorous, so plan your course load accordingly.
