An integrative health program designed for personal and professional growth

This certificate offers opportunities to enhance your well-being and positively influence others across various areas of your life. The curriculum emphasizes whole-person health — including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being — while examining environmental influences on overall wellness.

For personal growth, you’ll gain strategies to prioritize self-care, reduce burnout and manage compassion fatigue. By focusing on your well-being, you’ll be better prepared to support clients, loved ones and others who rely on you.

The knowledge you gain can support a transition into health and wellness careers and help you foster resilience in others. You’ll also learn to apply mindfulness practices and stress management strategies to expand your impact in helping professions, such as social work, nursing and behavioral health.

What you’ll learn

Coursework explores assessment and intervention in clinical settings, working effectively with multicultural populations and analyzing how social determinants affect health outcomes. You’ll study the neuroscience foundations of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR). An embedded eight-week course helps you build a personal mindfulness practice grounded in MBSR principles.

This program also emphasizes guiding others in forming positive habits in nutrition, physical activity, stress management, connection with nature and mental wellness. As a graduate, you’ll be prepared to foster mental health through supportive relationships, self-regulation and integrative approaches.

Courses in stress management, mindfulness and more

This certificate includes two core courses and three electives, offering flexibility to align your studies with your personal and professional goals while providing insight into integrative health. The eight-week mindfulness training course culminates in a certificate of completion in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and makes you eligible to apply for national certification. You’ll complete the full MBSR program, taught by a certified instructor and based on the curriculum founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, as part of your graded assignments.
