January 2019 marks the final semester of my college career. My daughter is trying to convince me to apply to an ASU Online master’s program, but I am not ready to make that commitment at this time.

My academic goal for 2019 is to pass MAT 142, a course I’m currently taking for my bachelor’s. I know you might be thinking, “All you want to do is pass MAT 142?” I'm not a numbers person. I like to analyze words. I freak out when I hear MAT 142, and the thought of numbers makes my skin crawl and my blood sugar go up.

My second goal for 2019 is health-focused. Being an online college student, I do not sleep as much as I’d like to sleep (depending on the class), and I snack on chips more than I should. I have made a commitment to stay out of the pantry when I’m stressed and to find time to exercise two to three times a week. I do not have time to go to the gym every time, as I have a treadmill at home, and I walk 20-40 minutes a few days a week at work. What are your goals for 2019? Whatever they are, I know you will accomplish them. Happy New Year!
I know that once I finish, I am one class closer to graduation. Whatever I need to do to succeed, I’m going to do it, even if it means getting a tutor or staying up until 2:30 a.m. trying to figure it out.
