There is so much to do and see around Phoenix, and luckily it’s not a difficult city to navigate. As you work through your travel plans be sure to explore the Alumni Travel Portal for hotel deals. We’ve highlighted some great sights and activities in the area, as well as how to find your way to campus for the big celebration.

Getting to campus

Light Rail - The Metro Lite Rail is easy to use with stops all over the valley. There are 28 stations along the line including stops at the airport and campus. Get an all-day pass for $4 or a ride for $2. Map your route on the Phoenix Light Rail website.

Bus - With city-wide and regional routes, the bus system is great to get you to campus, or for exploring the greater Phoenix area and beyond. Map your route on the Valley Metro Local Bus website.

Driving - Commencement is held on the Tempe campus but certain convocations are held at other campuses throughout the Phoenix area. Use ASU driving directions to get to the right location, and make sure to give yourself ample time for traffic and finding parking as graduation will be an extremely busy day!

Uber and Lyft - These popular apps will send a driver to you and drop you at your designated location. Download the Uber or Lyft apps in your app store, enter your credit card details and request a driver!

Taxi - Phoenix has a variety of taxicab services to take advantage of. You may want to call and book in advance as graduation will be a very busy day.

Parking - For parking on the Tempe campus on graduation day, we suggest the Apache Boulevard, Fulton Center and Rural Road parking structures; however, there are many more around campus. Be sure to arrive early to get a spot and plan to pay $3 per hour. Explore more on the parking on Tempe campus webpage.
