Arizona State University continues to set itself apart and establish a reputation of excellence. In 2016, ASU was recognized as one of the top 100 most prestigious universities in the world by Times Higher Education, the world’s largest academic opinion survey.
The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings were based on a survey of more than 10,000 scholars from 133 countries. The survey is invitation-only and based on the opinions of highly-regarded academics.
ASU was one of only 43 U.S. universities to make the list and the only university from Arizona. The top academics ranked ASU as being in the 91-100 cohort, next to other well-regarded universities such as Pantheon-Sorbonne University, in Paris, and the University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil.
Each academic that was surveyed named the universities they believed to be the best for research and teaching in their specific disciplines. While being ranked #1 in the U.S. for innovation played a key part in this ranking, Times Higher Education also emphasized the prestigious faculty at ASU.
Arizona State University continues to attract funding, capture top global talent and invest in partnerships. These are essential for being regarded in the top 100 most prestigious universities.
