Yes. You will need to submit an ASU Admissions Application but just to let you know... the application does not obligate you to ASU nor do you have to pay the application fee until you have made a decision to attend. **At the final step in the online admissions application, you will be given a "Payment Method" option where you can choose "I do not wish to pay my fee at this time. I will mail my check or money order from a US Bank or US Banking Affiliate". This will allow you to submit the application and pay the application fee later.
To submit your application, go to: Apply Online
You will also need to request that a current, official transcript from each institution attended be sent directly to:
Undergraduate Admissions
Arizona State University at the Tempe campus
PO Box 870112
Tempe, AZ 85287-0112
You can apply anytime you are ready. Applications are accepted for fall and spring semesters all the time. ASU offers a winter session and two summer sessions as well. Registration is for the upcoming term.
There are recommended deadlines by which you should have your application in. However, the earlier you apply, the earlier you can register for classes. Online classes are very popular at ASU and tend to fill up quickly. It is important to apply as early as possible to have the best selection of classes available and for the most options for financial aid.
Recommended timelines for admission:
You may apply as early as ... July
Approximately 13 months before classes begin May
Approximately 10 months before classes begin January
Approximately 5 months before classes begin
Last minute deadlines for admission: For Fall: June 1;
For Spring: December 1;
Summer: May 1.
On the admission application, at the time that you select Fall as the desired admit term check the box stating that you plan to take your first courses during summer session as a non-degree student and continue into the following fall semester. This will allow you to enroll in summer courses without having to submit two applications.
A current, official transcript sent directly from each institution attended must be on file at ASU before the application can be processed. If you believe that ASU should currently have all of your transcripts on file, contact the Readmissions Office to verify dates of enrollment from your transfer transcripts.
Independent Students To qualify for residency as an independent student, you must fully meet both of the following guidelines.
- Physical Presence (12 Months) You must be at least 18 at the beginning of the domicile year).
- Intent to Establish Arizona as the Permanent Home
Dependent Students
A student who is a dependent of parents, who are permanently domiciled in Arizona, may possibly qualify. Both parents (unless divorced) must claim Arizona as their legal and permanent domicile. Students who are over 18 when the semester begins must be claimed as a dependent for the most recent tax year. For students under 18, the domicile of the parent with legal custody will determine residency.

In general, acceptable academic credits are:- Those in which you have earned a “C” or better (on a scale of 4.0)

Vocational and training courses, while considered valuable experience, will not generally transfer as college credit. If you give your advisor the full name of the college, he or she can verify whether it is regionally accredited before you request the transcript to be sent.
Certain types of credit cannot be transferred to ASU, including credit awarded by postsecondary institutions for life experience, workshops, and seminars.
