The B.A. in Film and Media Studies provides students with skills that can be applied in a number of fields: from the entertainment industry, including film, television and new media, to local media arts organizations, teaching and research. Based in a broad liberal arts education focused on the humanities, our students graduate with the ability to think analytically and speak and write clearly and persuasively — skills in demand across almost all sectors of the global economy. Our program develops these skills through a variety of discussion-based and writing intensive courses.
Film and Media Studies offers distance learning designed for the diverse ways students learn. Like our brick and mortar courses, distance learning courses emphasize interactivity and include numerous clips from movies and television shows. Their distinct feature as online courses, however, is that they are built around streaming audio lectures synchronized with visual slides. All of the learning materials are available to students 24/7.

The Bachelor of Arts in political science offers students the necessary skills and knowledge to participate effectively as citizens in a democratic political system and to flourish in the rapidly developing globalization of the world's political institutions, cultures and economies. The political science major aims to provide students with the tools and skills necessary to make connections linking theory with "real world" problems and ideas.

For example, some of our graduating seniors have been hired to work at the Federal Reserve, the Arizona Governer's office, and local and national newspapers. Of the nine College of Liberal Arts and Sciences alumni who have been inducted into the College's Hall of Fame, three are graduates of the Political Science Department. In the Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication Program, students will learn how to produce, design, and manage information, using both traditional and developing technologies. Software and electronics companies, media corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, non and for-profit organizations are some areas that employ technical communicators. The curriculum brings together information, writing, multimedia, and communications technology to prepare students for careers as technical writer/editors, web or intranet designers, graphics designers, publication managers, information designers, instructional and training developers, and more.
Programs for Transfer Students
The B.A.S. in Internet and Web Development Concentration is a completely online degree designed to offer the working professional with an A.A.S. degree an opportunity to learn advanced web site design and development skills. This program works as a complement to the Community College Systems AAS degree. Students may participate as a full or part time student and complete the degree in as little as 2 years. The goal of the program is to provide students with management, leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills - along with significant technical skills in the web development arena- that will broaden their career horizons, promote life-long learning, and enrich their personal and professional life.
The B.A.S is a "capstone" or "inverted transfer" degree for the Associate of Applied Science degree. In completing the B.A.S you will complete all ASU graduation requirements. The B.A.S. online degree exposes students to advanced concepts and diverse critical thinking skills that prepare them for future career opportunities and professional advancement. Interdisciplinary studies is an approach to answering questions, solving problems and addressing contemporary social issues from multiple perspectives. Interdisciplinary students develop the intellectual tools needed to build bridges across academic disciplines and apply their skills, innovations and knowledge in various academic and practical settings. In core classes, students develop a portfolio that showcases each individual's skills, interests and talents. This portfolio and the applied learning experience provide each student with valuable resources for flexible, individualized career planning and development.
Working with an advisor, students in the online B.I.S. will choose two concentrations from the following options:
- family and human development
- film and media studies
- history (U.S. or European track)

- women and gender studies
Because of the flexibility of the BIS degree, BIS graduates leave ASU ready for their next steps in life, whether employment in an entry-level position, promotional opportunities, or for graduate studies in a variety of disciplines.
The BIS degree is available to all students in good academic standing with sophomore standing (25 credits or more). Students must complete the online BIS Cyber Workshop (found online at sls.asu.edu/bis/) prior to meeting with an advisor.

The BIS degree in Organizational Studies is intended for students seeking an interdisciplinary degree and a desire to learn about the dynamics of contemporary organizations. Via the Organizational Studies curriculum, students gain valuable knowledge of management styles, communication strategies, technologies, diversity, ethics and politics.
All course work for Organizational Studies is offered online giving students freedom and flexibility in completing their requirements. By engaging a breadth of knowledge and experience, and by acquiring the skills to integrate various domains of knowledge, Organizational Studies students prepare themselves for careers in business, government, nonprofit agencies, healthcare administration, or the service industry. Master of Advanced Study Degree in Geographic Education The Master of Advanced Study Degree in Geographic Education will not only enhance your ability to teach this area of the social sciences, but also provide techniques for its integration into other subjects. This flexible master's degree program focuses on your needs and adapts the program's assessments to maximize your learning experience. The program is individually focused on concepts, techniques, and applications of geography geared specifically for the grades you teach! You can earn this accredited, affordable master's degree in 12 to 18 months. No GRE is required for admission.
The Master of Advanced Study in American Media and Popular Culture is designed for those interested in earning a graduate degree in the aesthetics, history, and culture of American media (film, television, and the internet). As society becomes increasingly involved in media, literacy and criticism of media has become central to many industries and educational endeavors.
The MACJ—Online degree program at Arizona State University provides working professionals with the ability to obtain a masters degree in criminal justice. This online degree is delivered entirely over the internet, making it ideal for students who need flexibility and accessibility to achieve their educational goals but who nonetheless want to obtain a degree from a program with a highly qualified faculty with a national reputation for research and scholarship. The online MACJ is a 33-credit hour program that includes coursework in criminology and the operation of the criminal justice system, as well as training in research methods and statistics. Students must meet all admissions criteria of the Gradate College. In addition, applicants must have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA (4.0 scale) in the last two years of undergraduate study for unconditional admission to the MACJ-Online program.
The Online Intensive Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL) or Bilingual Education (BLE) is a rigorous and comprehensive program that may be completed in 13 months. All courses are offered online and structured to allow students to participate at any hour of the day, from anywhere a computer and internet connection are available. Courses are taught by faculty in ASU's Mary Lou Fulton College of Education, consistently ranked in the top 25 schools of education in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
The College of Teacher Education and Leadership offers an online Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction (ECDMAC) leading to Arizona early childhood certification or endorsement (birth through grade 3). The ECDMAC is a practitioner’s degree that is designed to advance the professional knowledge, skills and understanding of individuals teaching children from birth through grade 3.

Application Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree from an international institution that is officially recognized by that country. A bachelor's degree in the U.S. is a four-year degree that follows 12 years of primary and secondary schoolwork.
2. Equivalent to a "B" average (in the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of undergraduate coursework). If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirements, your application may still be considered although the degree program office may require additional supporting documents.
3. Official transcripts or mark sheets (one set) from every college and university from which a bachelor's or higher degree was earned must be submitted to the address below. You do not need to submit Arizona State University transcripts. If additional transcripts are required, the Graduate College will notify you.

Arizona State University is pleased to offer a 33 hour online MEd in Special Education Consultation & Collaboration with an Autism Emphasis. This new innovative program is designed for individuals who:
- Are dedicated to providing services to children, youth and adults who fall under the ASD umbrella.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Meet ASU Graduate admissions requirements
- Are serious in pursuing a high quality rigorous graduate program focusing on Autism.
The MEd Special Education Consultation & Collaboration: Autism Emphasis Degree consists of 10 classes and a practicum. Classes on offered in a 10 week format, year round.
The Master of Science in Clinical Research Management (CRM) attracts nurses and health care professionals nationally and internationally for advanced education as clinical research professionals in the diverse and complex clinical research industry. The role of clinical research managers (CRM) is rapidly expanding. The career field is particularly suited for nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals. Health care professionals from fields outside of nursing may complete the curriculum to obtain the MS in CRM, with completion of stated prerequisites. The CRM specialty takes a trans-disciplinary approach in providing an education strong in commercial and fiscal practices of conducting clinical research, ethical and regulatory aspects of research, and overall management of clinical drug, biological, and medical device trials. This program is unique in that it integrates principles of innovation and entrepreneurship for adoption into clinical research. The program is designed to be flexible and conducive to the adult learner; part-time study is available. This 33-semester-hour program is offered online with an initial three- or four-day immersion/practicum program. A six semester-hour capstone clinical research project is required.
The M.S. in Technology degree, with a concentration in Environmental Technology Management, is available through a web-based distance learning format. Three areas of study are available: Environmental Management, International Environmental Management and Sustainability, or Emergency Management. Students in this program will be part of a cohort group that begins each January and graduates 24 months later at the December ceremony.
The faculty in the Department of Technology Management offer this online degree with a concentration in Graphic Information Technology. Students in this graduate program will be part of a cohort group that begins each January and graduates two years later.
The degree targets graphics professionals, supervisors and managers in a graphics or technology-oriented area, military personnel, government employees, and graphics or technology educators who need advanced expertise in administering and managing digital content. Students come to the online program with expertise in digital photography, web design and development, print technology, multimedia, informational graphics, graphic sales and management, technical and scientific visualization, or other creative or technical backgrounds.
Evidence of a high degree of motivation will be expected for distance learning students.
