Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is an effort driven primarily by the U.S. government to develop standards for web-based training materials. The goal is to design and develop online teaching materials using these standards so they can be used in other learning/training applications. The platform the materials are designed on is independent, so they can be used in different learning management systems. The Distributed Learning Group in alt^I believes this is an area of interest to the online community. The links below provide information gathered from many sources that deal with the aspect of reuse and standards, as it relates to online course development.
