Phil Regier Dean, Executive Vice Provost
Phil leads the ASU Online team in delivering academic excellence through emerging technologies. He is the former Executive Dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business, one of the top-ranked business schools in the country. Phil earned his PhD in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his undergraduate degree in philosophy from St. John’s College in Santa Fe.

Kari BarlowChief Operating Officer
Kari is responsible for operations and strategic vendor relations at ASU Online, and oversees the Pearson partnership. She has served at ASU for twenty-five years, and over her tenure Kari coordinated alliances on behalf of the University Technology Office with companies like Google, Amazon, Apple and Verizon. She holds degrees in Education Technology and Learning and Instructional Technology.

Patricia FeldmanAssociate Vice Provost and Chief of Business Operations
Patty focuses on the development of targeted partnerships and programs, coordinating compliance with accreditation and the Dept. of Education initiatives, and building student success through extended campus programs. She holds degrees from Colorado State University in Human Development, as well as in Adult and Community Education. She earned her doctorate degree at ASU in Education.

Julia RosenAssociate Vice Provost
Julia is responsible for continuing education (non-credit) activities at ASU, for ASU Online’s global outreach, and for the Education Innovation Summit. Prior to ASU Online, she managed several university-wide innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. Julia also has worked in venture capital and technology-based economic development. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, she holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Russ KnockeChief of Staff
Russ is the former chief spokesperson and communications advisor at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. At ASU, he is responsible for building and promoting an exciting brand for our online programs. Russ has a masters degree from the University of Alabama and he earned his BA from Westminster College.

Casey AmbroseDirector of Marketing
Casey came to ASU Online from the Arizona Office of Tourism, where she led the Advertising and Fulfillment division. During her tenure she developed the new statewide brand for Arizona destinations in various national advertising campaigns. Casey is a graduate of ASU’s Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, and works with Russ on increasing brand awareness.

Corporate Partnerships
Alan FisherDirector of Executive/Industry Relations
Alan comes to ASU Online from Intel Corporation where he led the Accelerated Leadership Program and the global Extended Education team. Prior to Intel he worked for the Apollo Group/University of Phoenix in business development, enrollment and leadership development. At ASU Online he is responsible for developing our corporate partnerships. Alan earned his BS and MA degrees in communication from ASU and has an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Website Design and Development
John DevoyDirector of Website Strategy and Analytics
John directs user experience design and website development for ASU Online, as well as oversees best practices and analytics for all web-based initiatives. He earned his BA in Multimedia Design from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, and his MS in Graphic Information Technology degree at ASU. He's also certified in Google Analytics IQ.

Tamara PopovichDirector of Student Services
Tamara is an expert on student processes and curriculum. She strives to develop processes that facilitate student degree attainment and works across the university to implement practices that serve student needs. Tamara has a Doctorate of Education in Higher and Post-secondary Education from ASU and has worked for the university for more than 20 years.

Rebecca NewtonAcademic Program Onboarding
Rebecca began at ASU in 2004 as a Help Desk consultant in the University Technology Office. Experience and knowledge of ASU processes brought her to Online; she now counsels students in their program’s procedures, and provides technical guidance and registration help. She also develops internal systems support. Rebecca is currently pursuing her BA in history at ASU Online.

Casey Francis KazmierczakMilitary Specialist
Casey is dedicated to the military population at ASU Online, and focuses her time discussing degree options, military benefits, and processes with prospects and students. She promotes the university’s commitment to excellence in her work resolving student issues and addressing questions that arise during their educational pursuits. Casey is from Fla., where she earned her BA in Communication.

Edward RedondoFinancial Aid Counselor, Student Financial Assistance
Prior to collaboration with ASU Online, Edward’s career at ASU began in the spring of 2007 as a Specialist within the Loan Department of Student Financial Assistance. Now working as a Senior Counselor, Edward works directly with students in an effort to help fund their postsecondary educational goals. Edward is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree at ASU Online.

Marc Van HorneDirector, Instructional Design and New Media
With over two decades dedicated to instructional design, Marc leads a team of passionate designers and developers armed with 100 years of combined experience. He works collaboratively with faculty to deliver high-quality course content in engaging and innovative ways. Marc earned his BA in Broadcasting from the University of Arizona and a Master’s in Educational Technology from ASU.

Vicki HarmonInstructional Designer, Instructional Design & New Media
With 19 years of consulting and instructional experience at ASU, Vicki collaborates with faculty on course design and the alignment of courses with program-level outcomes. She holds a Bachelor's of Music Education and a MA from Western Kentucky University.

Philippos SavvidesInstructional Designer, Instructional Design & New Media
Philippos works with faculty to design pedagogically sound courses, and identify the best technologies to use across different disciplines. He holds a BS and M Ed from Arizona State, and is currently working on his PhD in Educational Technology. His primary research interest is game-based learning and learning in virtual environments.

Tahnja WilsonInstructional Designer/Project Coordinator
After years in the healthcare field, Tahnja earned her elementary education certificate and taught her own technology curriculum for K-8 students. In 2009 she came to ASU, redesigning courses for the online environment. Her instructional design interests include gaming, best practices, and student/instructor engagement. Tahnja holds a Master's in International Management, a MBA and Elementary Education Certificate and a BA in Journalism.

Tracy SmithInstructional Designer
Tracy has over 10 years of teaching and curriculum development experience. She currently assists ASU faculty with course design and development; promoting streamlined design and alignment in order to create quality learning environments. Incorporating innovative technologies for student and teacher engagement is one of her areas of focus. She earned her Master’s in Educational Media & Technology at Eastern Michigan University.

Justin HardingMultimedia Developer, Instructional Design & New Media
Orchestrating audio, video, and graphics, Justin produces new media to enhance content delivery for ASU Online programs. He is a proud alum who holds a BA in broadcasting from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Robert BehnkeMultimedia Developer
With interests spanning many creative disciplines, Robert has worked in video production, graphic design, and photography. He has been working in higher education for 13 years in various multimedia positions. He been a guest lecturer in Final Cut Pro or Photoshop workshops and has also trained designers in old school press printing techniques. One of his claims to fame is quickly compositing a photo used for Jeff Daniel's film, Escanaba in Da Moonlight. Robert earned his BA from Grand Valley State University with a dual major in English Literature Creative Writing and Film Production. He has also studied Nutrition at the University of Arizona and currently holds many certifications in the fitness industry.

Renee PilbeamInstructional Designer
Before coming to ASU Online, Renee worked on a variety of contract instructional design projects and also taught online and face-to-face undergraduate Computer Literacy courses at ASU. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Education, both from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Technology program at ASU.

DeAnna SothInstructional Designer
Before joining ASU, DeAnna spent 10 years in the corporate environment performing in various facets, including training, advising, and creating curriculum. As a designer, she partners with faculty to design and develop online courses and promote best practices for teaching in the online environment. She holds a BS in Business Communications and a MAED in Adult Education and Training.

Becca VernaInstructional Designer
Prior to joining ASU Online, Becca’s career path included five years in eLearning and corporate training, with another seven in online higher education. She has served several fast-growing startups as a founding curriculum design team member, helping those groups pioneer entire corporate and academic programs from the ground up. Her expertise working with instructional designers, subject matter experts, instructors, multimedia designers, and academic leadership teams spans the length of her twelve years in adult education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Public Relations Journalism at Arizona State University and her master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at a local University of Phoenix campus.

Brittney CunninghamInstructional Designer
Over the past six years, Brittney has served as a professor, faculty member, course author and peer reviewer for five colleges and universities. She has taught courses focused on online learning and utilizing social media to create online learning communities to increase student engagement. Brittney holds two degrees from ASU: a BS in Justice Studies and a MS in Technology focusing on graphic info technology, web development and interaction design.

Margaret WellsInstructional Designer
Maggie comes to ASU Online with 10 years of experience in the higher education industry. She spent the last five years in a corporate learning and development department as an eLearning Developer, working with project teams, a learning management system and a variety of eLearning software applications to produce online training. As an instructional designer at ASU Online, her focus is on continuing education. Maggie earned a Master’s degree in adult education and training and a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from University of Phoenix.
